MEET DARLENE

Hello, I am Darlene K. Taylor. I am the State Representative for Georgia House Seat 173, and I am seeking re-election for the District. I currently represent you as a member of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee, the Appropriations Committee, and Insurance Committee, where I am Chairman of the Health Subcommittee. Additionally, I am both a member and hold the office of Secretary for the Governmental Affairs Committee and was appointed to the Medicaid Reform Subcommittee. I am also a member and the Vice Chairman of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee. In addition to my committee assignments and legislative work, I have also received the appointment of Legislative Whip.

My legislative pledge is best characterized by the following Dwight D. Eisenhower quote: May we pursue that which is right without self-righteousness. May we know unity without conformity. May we grow in strength without pride in self. May we, in our dealings with all peoples of the earth, ever speak truth and serve justice.

ISSUES

My political beliefs mirror the Founding Fathers' as detailed in the United States Constitution for freedom of speech, freedom of religion, free enterprise, and the right to keep and bear arms. I am pro business, pro life and for smaller government.
